KIN2KIN FAMILY APP SOLVES SOCIAL MEDIA FOR GRANDPARENTS AND KIDS TOO YOUNG FOR FACEBOOK
March 23, 2016
Public launch for the family social app kin2kin has been scheduled for 31 March 2016. kin2kin will be launched internationally on three platforms including iOS, Android and web, which is a unique accomplishment for a startup software development company.
Over 1,000 local and international test subjects have been selected to trial the app over the last 12 months and a common response is that kin2kin may provide an excellent alternative to Facebook for families, specifically for children and grandparents.
kin2kin is a photo and messaging app designed to help families make better connections in a private, closed network. The app allows children too young for Facebook (aged 13 and under) to have kin2kin accounts managed by their parents to connect to their extended family. Parents can use the app to post family photos to kin2kin that they may not want in their Facebook feed. Grandparents can get photos of their grandchildren privately via the app without having to be in the big wide world of public social media.
kin2kin is the first app release from Digital Emotions Ltd, a software tech company based on the shores of Lake Wanaka, New Zealand. The company was founded by Hamish McGregor and the development team is made up of Stu Sharpe, Rob Silverton, Lloyd Weehuizen, Gwilym Griffiths Jones, Nic Robertson and Kristi James.
